Lealholm cottages
This typical Esk Valley village in the North York Moors National Park is situated in an idyllic spot with its flowing river crossed by a series of stepping stones, and was once named by The Sunday Times as the prettiest village in Yorkshire. The village has a tearoom and craft shop and the local village inn, “The Board Inn” specialises in using local produce in its food. There is also a shop, garage and a plant nursery. Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, famous Victorian photographer based in Whitby, was a regular visitor to the village for his work.
Lealholm is linked to Whitby and Middlesbrough, along with neighbouring villages such as Sleights, by the Esk Valley railway. By road, Whitby is under ten miles away and provides a great range of amenities as well as a great choice of visitor attractions. The village of Danby is just four miles away and is the location of The Moors National Park Visitor Centre where visitors can find out all about this stunning area, as well as enjoy a great programme of events, activities and exhibitions.
A Lealholm holiday home makes a perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, whether you are looking for a romantic cottage for two or are planning a fun-filled family getaway.
