Lovely property, well- equipped and great views. Very well placed for mountain bike rides around Danby- we did three. Try the cream teas at Danby Moors Centre, and the Magpie cafe in Whitby for fish and chips.

We visited Goathland, Pickering, Thornton le Dale, Staithes and Whitby amongst others. Hole in the Ellers is a lovely, clean, comfortable, well-equipped, spacious farmhouse with wonderful views over Eskdale. The owners were very helpful, even bringing their own microwave down when ours was on the blink, bless them. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and the grandkids had fantastic fun in the enclosed garden among the farmer's fieldRead mores. Just sitting out on the patio looking across the dale was so relaxing! I'm pretty sure we'll be back. It IS at the end of a very long, ribbed concrete farm track which was a bit of a surprise, but by the end of the week everyone had got used to it and we quite enjoyed counting the panicked rabbits as we rattled through to the large car parking area next to the house. This is set in such a quiet location. You are truly at one with nature. There's a lot of room in and out. Everything works and the owners are helpful, friendly and never intrusive.

Overall the farmhouse served it purpose for our of 7. The outside space is generous & the views are really enjoyable. My party did notice the number of flys - flying around the lounge area. The leather sofas in the lounge were very soft , numerous marked & felt uncomfortable. Members of my party complained that it gave them a back ache when theRead morey stood up. The pillows in the bedrooms were very flat & soft. No firmness or comfort too them what so ever. The cushions & carpet in the lounge could do with a proper deep clean. They just felt dirty & unclean. The best cottage we have ever rented. Fantastic views. A lot of thought has gone into providing amenities of a very high standard.
