Cosy and quaint to the core, it would be hard to find a more charming stone-built cottage tucked away in the rolling countryside of the North York Moors with fabulous views of Great Fryup Dale; this is the ultimate hideaway for couples looking to uncover the natural beauty of the North York Moors.

After exploring your surroundings, cosy up on the leather sofa in front of the TV beneath the exposed ceiling beams in the charming lounge/diner before making special family memories seated around the rustic wooden dining table; as the cooler evening air settles, fire up the roaring electric fire to keep toes toasty long into the evening. Grab the locally sourced produce you’ve collected and head into the adjoining kitchen to whip up a delicious feast to enjoy before bed or for tomorrow’s picnic. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, head upstairs to retire to either of the two beautifully presented bedrooms, which both feature charming sloping ceilings and a rustic colour palette that perfectly reflects the surrounding countryside. Watch the sunset or sunrise over the hillsides from the comfort of the patio in the enclosed lawned garden.

Discover peace and tranquillity in the wonderfully serene, rural and beautiful Esk Valley, perfectly placed to enjoy scenic walks along the River Esk at the nearby hamlet of Lealholm (1.5 miles) and uncovering the playground of outdoor activities the heart of the North York Moors has to offer. Venture 11.5 miles east to reach the charming seaside town of Whitby and while away an afternoon exploring the narrow winding streets and alleyways of the bustling town centre before admiring the striking Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey from the harbour.

Perfect base for our fantastic holiday on the moors - walking, wildlife watching, riding the heritage steam railway (NYMR). Cosy and warm to return to after a busy and/or chilly day. Well equipped for all cooking requirements, owners made us feel very welcome - as did everyone we met in the Moors area! A highly recommended location and property. It was a very nice cottage in a great location. It was very peaceful and had great views across the dales. The only thing that could be improved was the shower was a bit awkward since you had to hold the shower head up in the bath.
