Our Hinderwell cottages are in a great location close to the coast and within the North York Moors National Park, and just a mile from the beautiful seaside village of Runswick Bay. The village has a great amount of community spirit and residents take part in an annual scarecrow competition which makes for great family fun, viewing the creations that line villager's gardens and businesses. There are many amenities including shops, a post office, church, a village hall, fish and chip shop and tennis courts.

Hinderwell is an ideal base for walking holidays as it close to many walking routes including the long distance Cleveland Way National Trail. Using this path you can walk to Whitby, just over nine miles away, along the coast path, enjoying spectacular views on the way.

Whitby and the coastal villages of Staithes and Sandsend are all within easy reach by car and there is a regular bus service.
