This delightful two-bedroomed bungalow is situated in the charming fishing village of Staithes, on the beautiful Yorkshire coast, between the popular seaside towns of Whitby and Saltburn. It is also just 3 miles to the edge of the picturesque North York Moors. Boasting lawned gardens to the front and the back of the property, this holiday home is a joy outside and in, as there’s a wood burner to keep you toasty.

This lovely house is very spacious and homely with large living areas, wooden floors and underfloor heating throughout. Enter the hallway where you’ll find a hanging space, a shoe rack and a built-in cupboard with a washing machine. The open-plan lounge/dining room has a very high ceiling, with Scandinavian-style wooden panelling and spotlights. It also has a two-seater and three-seater sofa, an armchair, a lovely Scandinavian-style wood burner, a TV with Freeview, and a large solid wood dining table and chairs. The kitchen adjoins the lounge/diner and, amongst many other mod cons, has a fridge with a water and ice dispenser and a Senseo coffee machine. The bedrooms offer flexibility as there’s a double and a zip-and-link twin, which can be made up as a double upon request. The bathroom offers a bath and a separate shower depending on your needs. Finishing off the interior is a conservatory which has a comfortable sofa but also a dining table for flexible dinner times with views of the garden. The gardens are laid to lawn and are enclosed.

The village of Staithes is famous for its beauty and charm, it is popular with photographers and painters and features in many photos and artwork of the area. The village boasts some of the narrowest cobbled streets in the north and is connected with ginnels, nooks and winding streets. There is plenty to see and do with pubs, cafes, shops, art galleries, a fish smokehouse, a pretty beck and a sandy beach. The village hosts real ale and jazz festivals during the year and the September Arts Festival is becoming a very popular event which attracts many visitors. For those fancying taking to the waters, there are regular boat trips to Whitby from Staithes. There are many walks around the area along the cliff tops and through to Whitby and the Dinosaur Coast is great for fossil hunting.

Good location apart from very steep walk into village, keeps you fit! We are all in our seventies & managed it. There is a parking space in the drive & another in the street, a bonus to be available most places in the centre. 3 pubs serving food & real ale. Only ate at Cod & Lobster which was good but not as good as Magpie in Whitby. Food looked gRead morereat in Royal George. 5 minutes walk to stop for half hourly bus between Whitby & Middlesbrough. Had to use own log on for some features on tv- confusing. Well equipped accommodation for very pleasant stay Hide

The bungalow was nicely designed and worked extremely well. The TV and "Lazy boy" chairs were a plus.

As said in my review in the cottage bit surprised to see broken window with no explanation. Also bin outside was so full lid would not close.

Four Winds is in a particularly good location for walking, buses, supermarket, harbour, and of course, The famous Cod & Lobster. Once you have arrived there's no need to use your car.

We were very happy and relaxed in Fair Winds and felt home straight away. The property is situated in a very quiet area and it is only a short stroll down to the lovely old village. This was our second stay at Fair Winds. We had another lovely time. Just a short walk down the hill to the seafront at Staithes, it is in a great location.
