Holiday cottages and accommodation in Horton-in-Ribblesdale

The area of Ribblesdale is perhaps best known for its excellent walking country. Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it is home to Yorkshire’s renowned Three Peaks – Whernside, Ingleborough and the famous Pen-y-Ghent – all excellent challenging climbs, rewarded with breathtaking views across the picturesque Dales. With many long-distance walking routes such as the Pennine Way and Dales High Way both passing through this area, there are also plenty of opportunities for lower-level walking and hiking, not to mention some fantastic cycle routes.

In between walking, visit the train station at Ribblehead which has an interesting exhibition about the railway as well as a friendly local inn. A little down the valley in Horton-in-Ribblesdale there are more pubs and cafes to rest weary limbs and this little village is also the starting and finishing point for the Three Peaks walk. You’ll find more pubs and picnic areas at nearby Helwith Bridge and Stainforth, where walks to glistening waterfalls await, and don’t forget that the area is great for caving and potholing too if this is your area of expertise. For a greater selection of shops and places to eat, head south to the pretty town of Settle.

You’ll need somewhere to retire to at the end of long days exploring the National Park, and our holiday cottages in Horton-in-Ribblesdale offer a calming sanctuary where you can unwind before setting out for new challenges. Have a look at our selection of Yorkshire self-catering accommodation and find the perfect property for your next holiday.
