Fylingthorpe cottages

Fylingthorpe is close to Robin Hood's Bay making it an ideal location for beachgoers and walkers exploring the Cleveland Way. Four miles south of Whitby, this is a pretty village in the North York Moors and, as the name suggests, it was a Scandinavian settlement dating from the 9th century. Fylingthorpe boasts amenities including a shop, bakery and picnic areas. There is also a traditional country pub, “The Fylingdales Inn”, serving locally sourced home cooked food, a good range of real ales, spirits and fine wines.

There is a regular bus service between the towns of Whitby and Scarborough. If you prefer to be more active, the cinder track marks the route of the old railway line between Whitby and Scarborough and is now a popular route for walkers and cyclists to enjoy this stretch of the Yorkshire coast.
