Cloughton Cottages

Lying just four miles north of Scarborough and only 16 miles to Whitby, Cloughton is a delightful village with much to offer. Most of the houses are stone built and there are two pubs, the Blacksmiths Arms and the Red Lion. A gentle mile walk along the cinder track will take you to a third pub, the Hayburn Wyke. Queen Elizabeth II visited the Blacksmiths Arms pub in the village in 2010 for lunch during her trip to open the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough. This venue now hosts many top names in the entertainment world.

Scarborough was the first Victorian spa town and now offers visitors great beaches, amusements and events, and an excellent shopping centre. There is a regular bus service which will take you to Scarborough and to Whitby, and from these destinations you can travel on to explore the North York Moors National Park.

Cloughton cottages are an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast with pretty villages like Robin Hood's Bay and Ravenscar along with the Cleveland Way National Trail all within easy reach.
