Discover new horizons with your loved ones at this delightful former fisherman’s cottage sitting in between the sea and the castle in Scarborough’s historic Old Town. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, this an ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends in search of the perfect Yorkshire seaside retreat. Take a stroll to the castle or go on a boat trip to observe the seals; and in the evening come home to the cottage to share a sociable dinner with your loved ones in the characterful dining area.

Step inside and make your way through the lobby to the light and bright lounge. Take a moment to unwind before heading to the chic kitchen/diner, where you'll find everything you need to cook up a storm. Share your culinary masterpieces with everyone in the stylish dining area, which boasts a beautiful wooden ceiling and beautiful arched window. After dinner, return to the lounge to stretch out on a sofa and relax in front of your favourite TV shows. At the end of the day, retire to one of the two lovely bedrooms – a double on the first floor and a twin on the second floor. Both bedrooms boast beautiful views over the harbour for you to enjoy in the morning.

Grab your walking boots and explore the majestic ruins of Scarborough Castle (1 mile), which is perched high on a headland overlooking the town and the sea. Alternatively, visit the Rotunda Museum (0.5 miles), an outstanding natural history centre that showcases the region’s geology, fossil-finds and archaeological discoveries. If you’re feeling a little more active, head to the North Yorkshire Water Park (8 miles) to rent a kayak or paddleboard.

A lovely cottage, right in the centre of the old town. Comfy beds, 2 proper sofas in the lounge so 4 adults can all sit down for the evening (I say this as many cottages seem to sleep 4 and seat 3!). The parking space is a real bonus and the permit you need to display is easy to spot once you're in the cottage. You can walk straight down the old cuRead morestom steps to the sea front or turn left out the cottage and walk up some gentle slopes into Scarbs, we are a mixed age group (40's-70s) and we didn't have any issues but if you're not keen on stairs or slopes then perhaps book a holiday in Holland instead .... as Scarbs isn't flat Hide

The cottage was superb and I would definitely recommend it and stay at it again. Just feel very disappointed that it wasn't made clear that you needed to display a parking permit and ended up with a 70 parking fine.

Lovely property in a great location. Everything you need is supplied including internet and a smart tv. Parking is also a huge benefit. Might not suit those with poor or limited mobility due to steps to the front or hilly walk but we both managed in our 60s just taking our time. Highly recommend.

A nice, cosy cottage with a good location. Has all that you would need for your stay. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, as when leaving the property it is either 46 steps down (16 without handrail) to the sea front, harbour and shops, or the alternative is steep hill up and down. Parking space that comes with the property is a godsendRead more. We enjoyed our stay, loved Scarborough and surrounding area. Fabulous beach and harbour. Hide
