Your canine companion is welcome to tag along with you and your friends or family at this sweet cottage in the heart of Old Town one street back from the seafront, in the perfect location for exploring the beach, castle, harbour and North and South Bays. It has wonderful views of the harbour and lighthouse, a patio for al fresco drinks, and a wood burner for cosy evenings in.

The Grade II-listed cottage is spread across four floors and has lovely original features, like the fireplaces and wooden beams, alongside contemporary touches. Step into the bright and welcoming lounge, get the wood burner going and laze in front of the TV. Go downstairs from the lounge to the cute kitchen/diner to make your morning cuppa and enjoy memorable meals and open the French doors outside to let in the morning breeze. The first floor houses the cosy twin room and shower room, and the lovely double room is on the second floor where you can watch TV in bed, unpack into the gorgeous wooden furniture and enjoy the views. There’s space to store your bikes in the courtyard and sit with a cool drink in the sunshine.

Wander to the working harbour (just over 300 metres) to watch the world go by with a steaming coffee and pop into the shops nearby. Take Fido for a walk up the headland to explore the ruins of Scarborough Castle which stands high above the harbour with amazing views. Potter on the beach (just over 300 metres) or if you’re feeling energetic give surfing a go, visit Peasholm Park (1.5 miles) to go rowing on the lake and explore the pretty gardens and waterfalls. A wonderful cottage in a fantastic location! It felt very homely and had everything we needed. There is a sea view from every window, even when on the loo! We will definitely return.

We stayed for 2 weeks and everything about the property was fabulous especially the outdoor area which is rare to find in holiday propertys in Scarborough. We will definitely be booking again if available and would recommend to anyone looking for a property in a great location!!

We had a lovely time in Lighthouse cottage and in Scarborough. The cottage was so close to the sea front. Everything in Scarborough was walking distance, at least for us, the castle, the harbour, the beach, the Italian gardens, Peasholm Park, the shops. So many places for coffee and meals too. My 4 for comfort was that the single bed mattresses werRead moree uncomfortable and gave us both back ache by the end of the week. Also the stairs are a trial and though we coped they were something that reduced the comfort slightly. We suspected they would so used the twin room and our daughter had the top room. 4 for value was because if I'd booked two weeks later I'd have saved 100. 4 for booking is I just tend to look for the property where and when we want to go and for one I like rather than use of a particular catalogue. 5 for recommend OC. I don't recommend often. My family and friends have their own way of finding and booking their hols. And most could not afford to rent a cottage anyway Hide

Lighthouse cottage is ideally placed to explore all of Scarborough. 2 mins to the front and harbour, 10 mins to castle or town, 10/15 mins over the hill to North bay. Interior is nicely done, well equipped and cozy, with great views from the top bedroom. Over 4 floors so not for the less mobile, no parking but plenty nearby in winter.

Excellent holiday rental, close to seafront and beach. Beautiful views of harbour. Lovely walks to castle and only a short distance to shopping centre. Cottage is wonderful and we have stayed here many times now and will continue to do so.
