Middleton Cottages

Traditional, pretty limestone cottages line the streets of the small village of Middleton in the district of Ryedale. Our Middleton cottages are the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break close to the North York Moors. The village has a medieval church dedicated to St Andrew which dates back to 1782 though anglo-saxon evidence suggests there has been a church on the site for over a thousand years (anglo saxon crosses can be seen inside the church!). Also in the village's old post office is a fantastic 1940s themed tea parlour, perfect for a leisurely lunch!

Close to our cottages in Middleton, the local garage has a small supermarket where you can buy all your essentials and the bustling market town of Pickering is a level 1.5 mile walk, though there is also a bus service running throughout the day (except on Sundays). In Pickering you’ll find a great range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway starts here, showing you the beautiful North York Moors in comfort and style. Why not visit the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life in Pickering which details the history of the area or pay a visit to Eden Camp, a brilliant modern history museum near the town of Malton. Picturesque Nunnington Hall is 9 miles away near Helmsley, with its roaming peacocks and organic walled garden.
