Silpho cottages

If you are looking for a quiet and undisturbed retreat from your hectic lifestyle, then the village of Silpho may be just the answer. Standing on the level heights of the Tabular Hills, it is just four miles to the coast and only just over six miles to the bright lights of Scarborough. Within Silpho is a village pond and there is a tall water-storage tower that is well worth a visit.

The village is in the North York Moors National Park and is an ideal base for walking, cycling or touring the beautiful local countryside. A popular walk starts from the Reasty Bank car park – cross the road , walk to the right hand corner of the second car park and follow the sign for the “Moor to Sea” cycle route. This cycle route links the towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Pickering and takes you mostly along forest tracks and bridleways making it a good trail for all the family.
