The lively seaside town of Scarborough, just 8 miles away, has two sandy beaches and a wealth of attractions for all ages.

Beautifully furnished throughout, this light-filled rural retreat is designed to maximise its lovely setting, with picture windows looking out to far-reaching views. Relax on comfortable seating in the spacious lounge, with a Smart TV and a cosy wood burner. Discover a wine fridge and fun popcorn machine in the delightful kitchen-diner, plus a separate utility room. After a day of moorland air, sleep well in three sumptuous bedrooms: a super-king-size, which can be made into a twin, a king-size and a single. A shower room and family bathroom, with a free-standing bath complete the layout. Outside, the enclosed garden houses a hot tub, outdoor furniture and a BBQ.

Dalby Forest (10 miles) offers a comprehensive range of outdoor activities, with walks and cycle trails, play areas, Go Ape and much more. Largely free of light pollution, this is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site, where you can book a stargazing session. Jump on an open-top bus in Scarborough for a ride along the seafront, taking in the South and North Bay beaches and the resort’s leading attractions. Among them are the amazing Alpamare Water Park, Sea Life, where you can meet a colony of penguins, and the beautiful, oriental-themed Peasholm Park. Be sure to visit landmark Scarborough, a castle high on a headland, with magnificent views of the rugged Yorkshire coastline.
