Self-catering accommodation & places to stay in Masham

The small rural community of Masham is situated in the picturesque region of Lower Wensleydale in North Yorkshire. Known for its breweries, vintage steam engines and annual sheep fair, it is home to a vibrant community of artists and authors, with links to Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll and the English Romantic painter, JW Turner. A vibrant market town, it always has lots going on for both locals and visitors, who will be met with a warm ‘Massam’ welcome wherever they go.

Lovers of the great outdoors will be in their element with the brooding moorland, woodland and reservoir walks all around the town, while wildlife spotters should head to the Marfield Wetlands Nature Reserve on the outskirts of the town. Take a stroll along the River Ure following the Masham Leaves Trail or simply sit back and watch a game of cricket or bowls while enjoying a tasty picnic next to the river. When it’s time for somebody else to do the cooking, pop into one of the local pubs, tearooms or cafes and sample some of the great Yorkshire local produce on offer. Nearby Ripon also has an excellent selection of eateries, as well as a historic cathedral to visit.

If you are looking for a place to stay when you visit, we have a great selection of self-catering accommodation for all types of visitor – from romantic retreats to fun family hideaways and dog-friendly holiday home, our Masham holiday cottages are the perfect place to spend some days away with your loved ones.
