Holiday cottages and accommodation in Goathland

This moorland village may well be known for being situated in one of the country’s most beautiful national parks, the North York Moors, but to Harry Potter fans, it will always be famous for being the location of the ‘Hogsmeade’ station from the early films. Those who like a different type of drama may also remember it as the fictional village of Aidensfield in the popular TV series Heartbeat. Either way, hop aboard a North Yorkshire Moors Railway train, come to discover this famous village and step in the footsteps of some of TV’s finest.

Walk along the Rail Trail, which leads to the hamlet of Beck Hole where you can sample something delicious at Birch Hall Inn, North Yorkshire’s smallest and prettiest pub. Carry on to Grosmont and catch a train back on the heritage railway, where you can drink in the delightful scenery with your feet up. The pretty 70ft-high Mallyan Spout waterfall is under a mile walk from the village, as is the gorgeous Thomason Foss Wood waterfall – both magical places to visit on a sunny day.

Whether you’ve come to relive the Potter movies or to see the sights, you can’t go wrong with one of our welcoming holiday cottages in Goathland. We have a superb selection of self-catering accommodation in Yorkshire, from dog-friendly cosy cottages to large holiday homes perfect for that special celebration.
