Skinningrove Cottages

Staying in one of our Skinningrove cottages, you will have the beach of this small coastal village just a short walk away. The sand and shingle beach is quiet and secluded by the grassy hills and cliffs and perfect for dog walking. The ironstone workings opened in the village in 1848 and you can visit the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum here to find out all about the village's mining heritage. There is also a fish and chip shop in the village plus a general store and post office.

Our cottages in Skinningrove are just a short drive away from the busier Yorkshire Coast seaside resorts and attractions of Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn. The small fishing port of Staithes boasts quaint shops, tea rooms and traditional pubs and holds a popular Arts and Heritage Festival each year in September. Further down the coast the historic fishing town of Whitby offers fantastic historic attractions like the Abbey ruins and 199 steps, plus lots of great restaurants, bars and supermarkets. In the opposite direction you will find Saltburn-By-The-Sea, with its Victorian pier and cliffside tram, gardens and light railway.
