Perfect for a romantic getaway or a memorable break as a small family, this cliffside bungalow is enveloped in peaceful countryside. If you love to be outdoors, then this two-bedroom retreat sleeping three guests is a wonderful choice, as it is surrounded by a network of walking trails that wind through the breathtakingly beautiful North York Moors National Park.

Easily accessed via a ramp, this single-storey property boasts lots of character, with exposed beams, sloping ceilings, and an elegant French farmhouse feel. Head straight for the heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room and make yourselves comfortable on the deep sofas which surround the TV. When you’re feeling hungry, the kitchen space has all you will need to prepare and cook some delicious meals, and there is a large dining table and chairs when you’re ready to serve up. The vast French doors throughout this space fill the bungalow with natural light. When you’re ready for bed, the master double bedroom with an en-suite shower room is a restful space to drift off and dream. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a patio door keep the space bright and airy during the day, with far-reaching views of the rolling hills. There is also a single bedroom which has an en-suite shower room. Outside, a patio which is shared with the neighbouring property boasts a luxurious undercover hot tub.

The nearest shops and pubs are in the picture-postcard fishing port of Staithes (1 mile). A huge draw for artists and photographers, this village is adorned with pastel-painted fishermen’s cottages and winding cobbled streets. It also has a connection to the famous Captain James Cook, which you can learn more about at the Staithes Heritage Centre. If you fancy a bucket and spade day out on the sand, the seaside resorts of Whitby (11 miles) and Robin Hood’s Bay (16 miles) are within close proximity.

Lovely clean cottage. Ideal if you want to walk the Cleveland way. I didnt see it was a shared hot tub but it does say. Both bedrooms ensuite and decorated to a high standard. Nice touch with the Milk, wine and chocolates .The road can be very noisy which Barn cottage is located next too and the traffic moves extremely fast along this road

The conversion from a barn has been very well done, underfloor heating and wet rooms really good. Everything you would need is there.

Lovely cottage, in a beautiful part of the English countryside. Walking distance to Staithes. A bit of a shame it is by a noisy main road.

The Barn Owl is lovely, quaint and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cleaning products. It was perfect for the 3 of us. The welcome pack was great and I am now addicted to Yorkshire Tea! The beds were comfortable and clean. The wifi was good and all of the 3 TV's are SMART so we could relax with Netflix and kids couldRead more play on their games :) I would most definitely recommend. The walk into Staithes is lovely along the coast and Staithes itself is friendly and laid back with several bars serving pub grub and seafood. We didn't spend much time in Staithes itself as we were only there for a few days, but I would gladly go back and explore further. Hide
