The quiet village of Gristhorpe is located just 5 minutes away from the bustling seaside resort Filey and is a great choice for a self catering break. The village has a popular local pub, The Bull Inn, which serves food and fresh produce and locally reared meat can be found at Red Cliffe Farm shop, just 5 minutes away in the village of Lebberston. The well preserved remains of Gristhorpe man, a bronze age warrior, were found under a tree in the village and can now be viewed at the Rotunda Museum in nearby Scarborough.

The Cleveland Way footpath passes near Gristhorpe, offering some some fantastic sea views for walkers and cyclists. For great days out, there are some excellent attractions in the area including The Scarborough Fair Collection in Lebberston, an exhibition of steam engines, fairground rides and carousels, Scarborough Castle and Bondville Model Village, 10 miles away in Bridlington.
