Self catering cottages in Cowling

Cowling is a village situated in the Craven District of North Yorkshire. Located within close proximity to Skipton, which is known as the 'Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales' and the Pennine Way walking route, Cowling hosts the annual Cowling Gala, which attracts visitors from outside the area. The village is located just below the Yorkshire Dales National Park and forms part of Bronte Country, where the dark sandstone landscape and dramatic Pennine Moors provided the inspiration behind the Bronte Sister’s famous works such as Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.

Walks in the area will take you past famous landmarks said to feature in the sister’s work such as Top Withens (as featured in Wuthering Heights) and the Bronte Chair, where the sisters took turns to write their early work. Those interested can find out more at the Bronte Parsonage Museum in nearby Haworth where the Bronte's grew up. The village itself is expanding with new housing, a newly renovated pub, restaurant, village hall and fish and chip shop to enjoy. Visitors can also visit nearby Keighley for a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Take a look at our Cowling cottages for a self-catering getaway to the Yorkshire Dales with family or friends.
