Home to the Bronte sisters, this locale is a must-visit. You can visit the sisters’ original home, now a fascinating museum, or take circular walks out into the countryside, heading towards the Bronte Waterfall (8 miles) to take in the inspiration for so many classic novels. In the opposite direction, visit Skipton (7 miles), a market town hailed as the ‘Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, offering canal boat trips, a historic castle and an abundance of shops and restaurants.
