We would not recommend this "cottage", more a broom cupboard, far too small for anyone really, let alone a couple with a dog. Not cheap either. We left after two nights. Only positive was the bed and linen were comfortable. No sign of car park permit etc, we only realised afterwards, parking was over 13 a day and the park opposite is very, very busyRead more. We parked at the harbour which is just a few minutes walk away, but same price. Stay away. Hide

I appreciate that given the name Dinky Cottage one would expect it to be small, but in reality it was little more than a cupboard. There was hardly room for 2 people to turn around downstairs and having paid extra to bring our dog, there was no room for a dog bed or for a dog to move around. Unfortunately when we arrived at the allotted time , the Read moreproperty had not been cleaned and there were dirty towels and laundry still in the property so we were unable to stay, although having paid for a week. Great location, close to centre of Whitby. Parking permits were great when space available - we unloaded on double yellows & moved to cheaper car park. Compact space but planned well - the ladder could be a challenge for some; reasonable level of fitness required. Lovely outside space. A few things missing-only one large plate & one teaspoon- Read morewe bought & left for future guests. No DAB radio we could find. Some attention to cleaning of old cobwebs & unfortunately previous guests left dirty glasses. Plentiful towels & lovely gift of local Parkin cake. Great bolthole for a few days. Hide

Cleaning needs improving, dirty floors and skirting boards , hair all over stair carpet, rubbish and dirt under bed. no parking permit left. Had to ring landlord several times. Only one dinner plate, mugs disgusting all stained , had to buy 2 as they were disgusting.
