Set on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, this elegant hideaway is an excellent base for a pet-owning couple seeking a quiet break in nature, with trips to nearby English countryside towns and an opportunity for a day by the coast. Everything you need is in one, bright open-plan living space with a characterful wooden beamed ceiling, and you can dine alfresco on the enclosed patio.

Inside, you will find a welcoming neutral-toned lounge/kitchen/diner which is flooded with natural light through the skylights and is lovingly decorated with country-style furnishings. To one side of the room is a compact but well-organised ‘L’-shaped fitted kitchen with dark worktops and light cabinets. Adjacent is an intimate wooden dining table for enjoying romantic dinners. On the other side of the room, you’ll find a warming wood burner surrounded by comfortable armchairs. Rest in the super-king-size bedroom with French chic decor and a splash of colour throughout the soft furnishings. Completing the interior of the property is a bathroom with a roll-top bath. Outside, you will find a private patio with furniture and a BBQ.

During your stay in Gillamoor, you could explore your surroundings on a walk through the countryside. Treat yourself to a meal out in the neighbouring market town of Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles). Put on your hiking boots and follow the trail along Blakey Ridge (8 miles) and step back in time at the Simon Howe Stone Circle (24.5 miles). Go for a dip in the sea and check out the traditional seaside attractions in Scarborough (27.5 miles).

Beautiful well equipped holiday home. Very comfortable with plenty of space and an outside area to sit in which is secure. The bedroom is large and the bed is huge. The owners are both very helpful. There is plenty to do around the area. Very generous welcome package.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The weather was lovely during our stay so we were able to make use of the patio area and we walked the five minutes to the village if Gillamoor with our dog to have a lovely dinner outside the Royal Oak one evening.
