Directions from the host were great, she went out of her way to help us find it. The directions on the website need to be clearer.

Miss Alice B,

We had an amazing stay in a luxurious cottage. the best thing about the whole stay was the owners attention to detail. This is the only place we have ever stayed where there was wine, sausages, coffee, biscuits and milk left for the guests to enjoy. the owners were always on hand to help answer any questions. Highly recommended. We will be back

Mr A L,

Large family home from home! Fab owners who live next door, fully equipped - we had a blast! Fast booking system with friendly staff

Mrs Catherine O,

Absolutely amazing stay here at High Croft! Host’s made us feel SOOO welcome! Amazing house which made us feel at home! Beautiful scenery and surroundings. To the small things that made us feel so welcome! The only slight downside (which again no fault of anyone’s and didn’t spoil the trip what so ever!) it was quite hard to see in the dark and took a few drives up and down the country road to find the property but once we arrived it was amazing from start to finish!!! Thank you!!! Thank you so much for everything you did on our stay here! You made it special and we had such an amazing time!! Even down to the small touch’s for when we arrived!!! Thank you again!! ❤️

Natalie M,

Highcroft cottage was wonderful, such a beautiful location. We had a lovely weekend. Lynda and her husband were so welcoming and the welcome pack we received was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends. Thank you for making our girls weekend one to remember.

Miss Emma H,

Absolutely beautiful with great hosts!

Tammy E,

We visited High Croft as two families, it was absolutely perfect! All bedrooms were a good size, both bathrooms clean (ideal having two!) The property was extremely well equipped, and the owners were very hospitable, even taking the kids to meet their horses. Lovely touches included wine and breakfast items in the fridge on arrival. I would definitely recommend it, and we hope to be back soon!

Tammy & Family,

We had a fab stay at high croft cottage and would recommend to any one the hostess were great

Ms Glynis W,

This was our second visit to this property. We enjoyed our stay at this well equipped cottage, great location and facilities, beautiful scenery, fabulous owners, who live on site, but are unobtrusive, helpful if needed, and are a lovely couple. We are looking forward to our next family gathering or celebration, we would return again.

Mrs Deborah N,

Very helpful owners, lovely welcome pack

Mrs Sharon S,

Perfect week away for adults dogs and baby. Hosts were so accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Miss Samantha S,

We stayed at High Croft over Spring Bank, eight & baby. The house is spacious, well equipped, comfortable, and the views are amazing. The hot tub was a huge success. The bird table really has a variety of birds visiting every day. The owners were lovely, even going the extra mile and returning my grandson's cup holder off his buggy. Thank you so much, Lynn and John. Highly recommended oasis between North York Moors and the sea.

Area Information

Situated on the outskirts of the popular resort of Scarborough, pretty Scalby village makes a tranquil spot to tour the sights of the Yorkshire coastline. With a quaint beck running through the village, it's lovely to explore the village on foot and the two popular local pubs, local store, church and local restaurants are located at the centre of the village or within easy walking distance. There are also tennis courts, a bowling green and playing fields to be found here, ideal for cricket or football on an evening. A regular bus service links you to Scarborough while the 'cinder track' (where the old railway used to run) connects you to the popular town of Whitby further up the coast which can be enjoyed on foot or by bike with some breathtaking coastal views along the way.
