  • A grade II-listed fisherman’s cottage full of character and charm
  • Wonderful sea and rooftop views
  • Moments from the beach and heart of historic Robin Hood’s Bay

Property code: OC-R020

Just minutes from the beach, this 17th-century fisherman's cottage is situated on the quiet side of Robin Hood’s Bay, close to pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Enjoy BBQs in the shared garden in the summer, and cosy nights by the fire in the winter - this lovely getaway is ideal for couples, friends and families all through the year.

This quaint property definitely makes an impression. It’s set over three storeys, with beams and cottage-style stairs, and has steps up and down between rooms, too. The lounge/diner is on the ground floor, featuring a stripped-wood floor, beamed ceiling and open fire, and a TV/DVD to keep you entertained. Three steps take you up into the kitchen, equipped with everything for your culinary needs. On the first floor you’ll find two lovely bedrooms, a double and a single, plus a pretty shower room. Head up to the top floor and there’s a twin bedroom, with metal beds tucked under the eaves and a TV. From here you can enjoy sea views, and relish the sense of history in the form of beams made from old ship’s timbers. If you want to enjoy the fresh sea air, there’s a seating area to the front overlooking a communal garden which has a BBQ stand, while at the back of the house there’s a bench seat and planters.

For walkers and nature lovers, this is the perfect area to explore: the Bay is the end point of Wainwright’s coast-to-coast route, and is on the Cleveland Way national trail and at the edge of the North York Moors. As well as hiking you can cycle, swim, horse ride, bird watch, go rock pooling on the dog-friendly beach or simply sit back and admire the diversity and abundance of marine wildlife around.

Property was in a great location and the parking permit was real bonus. The house itself was comfortable and catered for all our needs.

We found everything from the booking experience to the stay wonderful. Booking online was easy and when we wanted to add extra days, I found speaking with employees over the phone both helpful and enjoyable - they were lovely people. The cottage itself was beautiful and well kept. All instructions on checking in and out were clear and concise. Peters House is a lovely property, in an ideal location on the quieter side of the old village. The house was very clean and generously equipped - we had everything we needed for our family of five, and felt very welcome during our stay. I would definitely recommend this house and would hope to stay there again in future.

We had a fabulous break at the cottage. Perfect location, cosy and warm and lovely attention to detail. Just felt the oven which we had an issue with made me score 3 but I must say the owner did all he could to solve the problem!

We had a very relaxing week in a fabulous location. The cottage was right in the centre of Robin hoods bay and was well equipped for cooking and was very warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable but the living room sofas unfortunately were not at all. They were hard and cold to sit on and no throws were provided; thankfully we brought our own. As weRead more were both recovering from an illness we didn't stay out too late in the evenings and were disappointed to have no smart TV. Despite the two negative points we did thoroughly enjoy our stay. Hide
