A wonderful blend of original period features and stylish decor makes the three-storey property a great place to relax after a day of adventure. Ness Cottage was lovely. It's in an excellent location and was easy to find. It's a 5 minute walk to the Cinder Track which will take you on a nice, fairly flat stroll to Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay (or further if you feel like it). The Coast to Coast path is also 5 minute walk away too. There are supermarkets and a petrol station less than 5 mins dRead morerive away. Buses are very regular. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. The owner has thought of everything and was a lovely treat to have some wine and biscuits left as well as tea, coffee and milk. Beds were comfy, lots of clothes hangers and towels. WiFi was good throughout the cottage, TV was temperamental but that's hardly an issue. The garden was nice, this is across the shared alley that runs behind the row of cottages, it's clearly marked which garden belongs to Ness Cottage, and has garden furniture in. We didn't use it as the weather didn't play too fair! On street parking was good so we didn't use the garage (also clearly marked). I don't know if this cottage is suitable for little children due to the stairs being partially open and the stairs to the top bedroom are very steep so wouldn't recommend that floor for people with mobility issues. It has a very fancy, double shower but no bath so might not be suitable for children. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it. Also, it's huge on the inside, proper TARDIS of a place! This was our 3rd stay at Ness Cottage and won't be our last. Ideally situated for a walk along the Cinder Track either way to Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay. Regular buses right by the cottage. No problem with on street parking. Well equipped kitchen with separate counter top freezer if you've gone prepared for cooking meals and nice private garden sligRead morehtly detached from the house but secure for dogs once in, if the weather is kind. Spacious bedrooms for families. All in all can't recommend this cottage enough. Pub across the road and shops a 5 minute drive away for restocking. Ness Cottage certainly has a bit of our hearts. Overall enjoyable stay & would recommend. Very clean & comfortable, with some well thought out complimentary additions. Only issue is holiday cottages (booking agent ) hidden extras, on top of advertised price. Check before you book with them.
