Welcome to Harbour Retreat a beautiful apartment with stunning views over the Harbour and the docked boats. This apartment truly has it all from lovely views, parking and is furnished throughout with modern contemporary styling and is only a short walk into the town. This well laid out apartment offers an open plan kitchen-lounge dining space, with a large bay window seat a lovely place to watch the boats go by. This room is the perfect space to relax after a day of exploring with its 40-inch smart TV ideal for watching your Netflix’s on and relaxing on the comfy sofas. This spacious apartment offers a modern shower room and two beautiful bedrooms with a king size bed and a super king zip and link bed an ideal retreat for families or group of friends. The apartment offers allocated parking and there is also a play park on site which is great for any little ones on the trip. The apartment is only a short walk into Whitby and all its great attractions such as Captain Cooks Museum, beautiful beaches, the 199 steps and the Abbey not forgetting to mention all the great restaurants tearooms and tasty fish and chip shops which Whitby is famous for.

Harbour Retreat is in an ideal location for guests that are wanting to stay enjoy Whitby on foot or for guests wanting to explore further afield in the car exploring walks on the North Yorkshire moors, the North Yorkshire railway line, the sea life centre in Scarborough there is plenty of choice for activities both on foot or out and about in the car and is the perfect choice for all seasons.

Area Information

Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
