Cherry Tree House is a gem! If you are looking for a slightly quirky house for up to eight people, within easy walking distance of Helmsley town centre, look no further. Throughout this spacious house, fascinating artefacts and interesting features provide added interest. The owner has spent a lifetime collecting furniture and antiquities, and Cherry Tree House is the perfect showcase. The kitchen diner is a fantastic space to relax, eat and entertain, with a large table and a contemporary kitchen. The chefs in your party are well catered for with an Aga and contemporary oven and hob, and with two dishwashers no-one is going to be stuck at the sink for long. The adjoining family area provides additional space to watch TV or play a game, yet within the same area. The separate lounge and garden room offer plenty of space for everyone. If you want to escape, why not fling open the patio doors in the garden room and relax with a book or enjoy a quiet glass of wine whilst taking in the view of the patio. Upstairs, the bedrooms are all of a good size. Two are en suite and the free standing cast iron bath in the master bedroom en suite offers an extra touch of luxury. White Company toiletries are provided in all bathrooms. Outside, the patio has a table and chairs for enjoying meals al fresco or perhaps you will use the charcoal barbecue. A large cherry tree dominates the patio, providing shade in this suntrap area. There is also a large grassed area for the more active, and plenty of space for off-road parking. It is just a five minute walk to Helmsley town centre, with its boutique and individual shops, and great choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The two large hotels have outstanding restaurants, and offer afternoon teas. The Michelin starred The Star Inn at Harome is a couple of miles away. Whether you are looking for a house for a family get-together, a special celebration, or just want somewhere with plenty of space, Cherry Tree House should definitely be considered.

A fabulous house. Well presented, welcoming and spacious. We had a wonderful holiday.
Lovely location being both on the edge of National Park and beautiful surrounding countryside, as well as being just a short walk into the charming little market town of Helmsley. The house is quiet, spacious and comfortable as well as being well served with toilets, baths/showers, loads of hot water, comfortable beds and a small but, dog/child wise, friendly and secure back yard (it’s a mainly paved area) and ample off road parking.
Lovely location for a 60th birthday celebration. House lived up to expectations. Plenty of room for a multi-generational house party. Great place to visit. Thanks Harry (nothing was too much trouble). The apples from the tree made a great crumble!
Thank you for a wonderful week. We love the house and had a great time entertaining our Yorkshire friends. We love North Yorkshire!
The house is equipped with lovely quirky old fittings, and family heirloom pieces of furniture, as well as brand new kitchen equipment, TVs etc, and is both comfortable and spacious. The friendly owner lives in an adjacent property, and was helpful when needed, but not intrusive. Helmsley has all the amenities needed in a picturesque setting, including its own castle, walled gardens, and nature reserve while being perfectly located for exploring the Moors, coast and York, plus within a decent walk of Rievaulx Abbey. We had a great time, and would definitely recommend this property.
An ideal setting for our Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration. Great weather allowed us to use Cherry Tree House to fullest advantage.
Stayed as a house party for Norman's 70th. What a great place to relax in. Thanks to Harry for making no problem.
Perfect location and base for exploring local places of interest. House is superbly appointed and probably the most comfortable that we've had over 60 years of getting to see the world from a walkers viewpoint. Thank you.
Lovely stay at Cherry Tree House, plenty of space for everyone to find their own space. Great location to explore racecourses and the whole area. Thanks Harry for all your help and chats, we will return.
Eeh bye eck as like - marvelous host and house. Thank you!
The property was absolutely stunning. We were a party of 8 and spent the New Year in at Cherry Tree House. It was perfect. We had a fabulous dinner party in the gorgeous kitchen on NYE and then went into the lounge and played party games and then let the New Year in. Everything was done to a high specification even down to the crockery and kitchen utensils. Harry the owner is a great guy. I would definitely recommend you try this property. You won't be disappointed. We will be back. Helmsley is also such a lovely town. Handy for country walks with the dog and also not too far for a trip to the coast.
Gorgeous property in a brilliant location. Definitely to be recommended.
Cherry Tree House was fantastic, plenty of room for all our family and within walking distance of the lovely Helmsley.
We all enjoyed our stay at Cherry Tree House. Nice location, nice house with a lovely feel about it. Thanks for the welcome pack.
Famous for its character and charm, the historic market town of Helmsley is situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and the Valley of Pickering. It has retained its medieval layout and the Market Place is surrounded by some interesting period stone-built cottages and many charming traditional shops and tearooms. In the middle of the Market Place there is a statue of William Duncombe, 2nd Baron Feversham, whose family has been associated with Helmsley since 17th century. Helmsley with the nearby area offers a fabulous choice of places to visit, such as ruins of the Helmsley Castle built in 1120, Duncombe Park - the beautiful dwelling of the Barons of Feversham, the International Centre for Birds of Prey, Helmsley Walled Garden, Rievaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and the Sutton Bank. The 110 miles long Cleveland Way National Trail starts in Helmsley. The beautiful towns of York, Thirsk and Pickering are an easy drive away.
