Self-catering holiday accommodation in Knaresborough

Our self-catering holiday cottages in Knaresborough are perfect for touring the stunning countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. This ancient market and spa town which overlooks the River Nidd, is one of the prettiest towns in North Yorkshire. Arrive via the imposing viaduct for unrivalled views over the Nidd Gorge, and follow the medieval roads which wind their way towards the historic town centre. Here you will find an attractive knot of streets full of interesting shops, boutiques and eateries, as well as pubs serving fine local ales. If you visit the marketplace on a Wednesday you can enjoy the market in full swing, with all manner of local produce and crafts on offer.

Knaresborough Castle and its museum are perched at the top of a sheer cliff and provide valuable insights into Norman life. Other attractions in the town include the beautiful Bebra Gardens, the Courthouse Museum and Mother Shipton’s Cave with its magical Petrifying Well that reputedly turns objects into stone. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy rambles through the network of pathways in the Nidd Gorge and boating on the river, keeping an eye out for roe deer, kingfishers and otters. The cathedral cities of Ripon (12 miles) and York (17 miles) are close by, as is the beautiful spa town of Harrogate (4 miles).

If you’re looking for places to stay in Knaresborough, our Knaresborough cottages are the perfect choice. Escape with your loved one to a romantic cottage, bring your pet along to one of our dog-friendly retreats, or get everyone together under one roof in a large holiday home.
