Holiday cottages in Kirkby Malzeard
Our holiday cottages in Kirkby Malzeard are the perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the beautiful nearby spa town of Harrogate. It's part of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by gorgeous open countryside, woodland and moorland, making it ideal for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle.
Head over to Harrogate for fabulous resturants, wine bars and the historic Turkish Baths where you can indulge in a range of treatments, from rejuvinating facials to relaxing massages. Kirkby Malzeard itself is full of the charm you would expect from a Yorkshire Dales village and has all the amenities you could require during your break. There's one pub in the village, The Queens Head, along with a fish and chip shop, local butcher, village store and a newly opened antiques and curios shop. The creamery in the village has been a producer of traditional Wensleydale cheese for nearly 100 years and is now part of the Wensleydale Creamery (headquartered in the northern dales market town of Hawes).
There's lots to see and do in the local area, from sampling a pint of Black Sheep beer from the brewery in Masham to enjoying the outdoors and blowing out those cobwebs at How Stean Gorge and exploring the nearby cathedral city of Ripon. Further afield you'll find the quaint market town of Pateley Bridge (home to the oldest sweet shop in England), and Middleham which boasts the ruins of Middleham Castle (once home to Richard III). There's also lots of gorgeous countryside to explore either on bike, by car or by foot on a scenic walk with a four-legged friend by your side.
