Holiday cottages and accommodation in Embsay

Situated to the south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the village of Embsay is lucky enough to be nestled between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Nidderdale to the east and the Forest of Bowland to the west. True walking country, with a plethora of excellent hiking and cycling trails on the doorstep, the area doesn’t forget visitors who like a little culture and shopping on their holiday either, with the elegant spa town of Harrogate 20 miles away and the vibrant city of Leeds 28 miles to the south.

The village is particularly popular with train enthusiasts as it’s one of the main stops of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. A heritage line that reopened in the 1980s, it has also been used in recent years as a filming location for the popular soap Emmerdale. It is close to many attractions, including Embsay Moor with its beautiful rock formation, Linton Falls and the ruined monastery of Bolton Abbey. Don’t miss the medieval fortress of Skipton Castle, now open to the public as a museum hosting historical exhibitions throughout the year.

Our holiday cottages in Embsay are the perfect place to rest your head when you come to visit the Dales. Choose from dog-friendly country retreats to contemporary spaces, each one an ideal spot to base yourself on your next holiday to Yorkshire.
