A lovely house in an idyllic setting with everything that you could need. We didn't want to leave.

Mr S,

We will be booking this cottage again, for us it is ideal for a short break. The house is an old village school that apparently dates from 1700's, it had been in use until the early 1960's, the new school is a about 100 yards up the road. The house has a very friendly homely feel, rooms mostly feel larger than you would expect. The lounge/dinning room has a lovely wood burner with all the wood you need with no extras to pay. Our favourite room is what would be a third bedroom with a lovely little glass extension into the rear garden, giving relaxing seating and views of two large stream's merging, a lovely bridge with lots of character, in front of some nice well kept farm buildings, the local ducks seem to enjoy the water here and sometimes come to visit in the garden.

Mr D,

Very comfortable cottage with a home-from-home feel. Very well-equipped in general and high quality bedrooms & bathrooms. Excellent location - rural and tranquil, with a pub within walking distance serving superb food. Beautiful walks on doorstep and good location for venturing further afield driving through gorgeous countryside.

Mrs M,

Lovely property in a quiet village. Simple living and great location for exploring the Lakes, Dales or Pennines.

Mr M,

Monks Bridge is one of the best places we've ever stayed. The house is beautiful and very comfortable with everything you need. The location is excellent and it also has a gorgeous garden.

Mrs C,

Property and area outstanding. Had a brilliant time, all so very comfortable. Didn't want to come home :-(

Previous Customer,

Wow this holiday cottage was fabulous , the quality of the bedding and towels was first class, bed was very comfy, bathrooms were immaculate with lots and lots of hot water. The locals in the village were very welcoming and friendly, with lots of walks straight from the doorstep. What more can I say but perfect.

Mr C,

We loved Monks Bridge. It is a delightful house and we were all so very impressed about how spotlessly clean it was, and the linen and towels a delight. We would love to visit again.

Mrs B,
