Reviews

Julia it’s been heavenly. We did a wonderful walk my son found online - the Lowther loop. Lowther Castle and across to Helton and up onto Askham Fell and back down through Askham. Blissfully varied, great views and I much recommend it. Monday had mixed forecasts so we stayed closer to home. We stopped for cupcakes at Midtown Farm - brilliant birthday cake by the way. Thanks so much for arranging that. Today we went back to Ullswater as it was a stunning day. Parked at Martindale and walked the Ullswater way to Patterdale and then up and over Breda Head and back down the valley to Martindale. My older son - who was in New Zealand in Jan and Feb - said why bother to travel so far when it’s every bit as beautiful here! We will leave with very heavy hearts but so fulfilled after a stunning trip down memory lane!

Voirrey H,

A Wonderful break in a beautiful house. What could be better in such a year of change than to spend a week surrounded by beautiful countryside and the sound of the nearby river and the crackle of a log fire. thanks as always for providing such a great place to stay.

D and S,

We had an excellent stay at Monks Bridge. Crosby Ravensworth was an ideal base to explore the surrounding area and we managed to walk and cycle as well as visiting Pooley Bridge, Penrith and the White Scar Caves. The accommodation at Monks Bridge is first class and the amenities provided much appreciated. A special thanks for the welcome pack and tasty berry jam. Many thanks,

Previous Customer,

We had such a fabulous week staying at Monks Bridge. This is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Absolutely brimming with character and lovely and spacious for our family of 4. It was sparkling clean on arrival - clearly the housekeeper has the highest standards which gave us peace of mind in the current situation. The milk, cakes and homemade jam were a really lovely welcome treat. The situation of the house next to the river and that view when having an evening drink was so beautiful ! Great for wildlife spotting too. Our kids (12 and 9) were able to have a paddle in the river which they absolutely loved. We didn’t have wall to wall sunshine but we made the very best of the good weather we did have a drive miles around, over to the lakes, Windermere, up to Carlisle and Hadrians wall down to Middleton on Tees, and Sedburgh. Also took in Kirby Stephen and Appleby. A wonderful house in picturesque surroundings. We hope to come back one day! Kindest regards

The Gardner Family,
