Take in heather moorlands and sweeping vistas as you approach this rural cottage in the North York Moors. Located on a working farm with spectacular gardens and a river running through, this peaceful holiday destination invites two guests to embrace a slower pace of life and days filled with hikes, bike rides and nature trails. The property is just 3 miles from the quiet village of Chop Gate, a lovely location at the foothills of the Cleveland Hills (7 miles) with undulating country roads leading up and over scenic hilltops.

This Grade II-listed barn conversion has been skilfully crafted from Yorkshire stone and pleasantly renovated to create an entirely updated base for modern holidaymakers. Spend time in the open-plan living space with a lounge, kitchen and diner set underneath handsome beams and a high ceiling. With underfloor heating and bi-fold doors into the outdoor space, this really is a destination for all seasons. Admire the scenery of the garden or switch on the Smart TV. Just off this room, find a king-size bedroom and an en-suite bathroom to complete the accommodation’s interiors. The outdoor spaces are shared, offering a courtyard and a wrap-around garden with a lawn and plenty of plants.

The national park’s famed walking and hiking route, the Cleveland Way can be found on your doorstep, presenting an easy-to-follow and utterly rewarding route through the North York Moors. Pretty towns are also within reach, including Stokesley and Helmsley (both 10 miles) with their inviting country pubs, local shops and regular markets. You can reach the coast in less than 35 miles, spending time hunting for fossils on the remote Kettleness Beach (31.5 miles) or embracing a long walk along the clifftop coast route.

This cottage was perfect: well equipped in a fantastic location. Definitely a place to relax and recharge the battery with lots of walking opportunities. We felt we were staying in the middle of the countryside but with the added bonus of towns just a short car drive away. Would love to stay there again.

Witches Cottage is part of former farm buildings located on an attractive working farm with happy chickens, ducks and cats wandering about. The conversion is excellent; a really interesting piece of architecture. The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped to a very high standard with stylish, interesting furnishings. Great rural location on a lovely North Moors farm with lovely views with peace and quiet, and if youve a few crumbs left from breakfast the chickens and ducks will appreciate them!

A well equipped, cozy cottage that is well located to explore the North York Moors and surrounding areas. The owners have put significant time and effort into making the it as comfortable as possible. Very comfortable quiet cottage . Convenient for many places to visit in the area such as Helmsley., Castle Howard , York and Saltburn on the coast. Beautiful surroundings with easy access to many walks. Lots of lovely pubs to dine in .

This cottage was truly excellent in terms of comfort, and especially of elegance and quality of fittings, cutlery etc. Take passwords for streaming sites since there is a smart tv. The bonus was certainly the shared garden. The location is ideal, with good shopping at Stokesely and Rievaulx Abbey and Helmesley Castle just down the road. This beautiful cottage was wonderful. We had a relaxing visit to Yorkshire, and it was close to what we wanted to do even though deep in the countryside - the daily visits of the hens kept us amused as well.

Warm and cosy cottage recently refurbished to a high standard, with lots of space and large windows looking onto the farm greenery and hills beyond. Very quiet and peaceful and a great base for walks and attractions in the under-valued North York Moors.
