With its rural location and quirky, reverse-level layout, this stylish property offers a dreamy escape for couples and solo travellers in the Lower Dales. Located within 15 miles of the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Nidderdale, this is a dream destination for walkers and nature lovers, with a wealth of market towns and historic attractions nearby. Set amid a small cluster of holiday homes, it can be booked with the neighbouring properties for larger groups.

Sustainability meets style in this two-storey property. Underfloor heating powered by a ground source heat pump keeps toes toasty, while high-quality furnishings and cosy touches combine for a home-from-home ambiance. The entire first floor is comprised of an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner set beneath a vaulted, beamed ceiling. Rustle up meals in the beautifully equipped kitchen, before settling around the table for two to dine, then relax on plush seating next to a roaring wood burner to watch the Smart TV or just enjoy quality time together. When it’s time for bed, get snug under the covers of the king-size bed in the elegant ground-floor bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom. Outside, make the most of warm weather in the courtyard which has garden furniture and a BBQ. The property also benefits from shared access to a grassy garden, a paddock for exercising dogs, bike storage space, and allocated parking for two cars.

With its charming green, friendly local pub and village shop, Crakehall (1 mile) has all the basics close at hand, with more amenities in the market town of Bedale (3 miles). The region is awash in cultural and historic attractions, with the Wensleydale Railway (station in Bedale), Richmond Castle (10 miles), Jervaulx Abbey (8 miles), and Constable Burton Hall and Gardens (6.5 miles).

I found this cottage perfect for my needs. It was very well presented and clean. All the equipment, I used, worked very well and the support I received from the owner and booking company was excellent.

The cottage is clean. It's beautifully decorated and furnished. Bed comfy. Lovely outside seating area. Beautiful views. Fabulous location. But a lot of let downs on the maintenance side. Put these right and it would be 5 star. I would suggest you take a few coffee mugs from home as there aren't enough in the cottage.
