Join friends and family in this spacious coastal retreat in the quaint hamlet of Port Mulgrave. The property sleeps eight guests and is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday amongst breathtaking scenery. The Cleveland Way passes nearby, offering spectacular coastal walks to Staithes (1.5 miles) and Runswick Bay (2 miles). Alternatively, head inland to explore the network of walking trails within the North York Moors National Park. After a day of adventure, enjoy al fresco evenings in the south-facing garden.

The 150-year-old stone cottage has been tastefully renovated, featuring lots of natural materials, a clever mix of traditional and contemporary furniture, and a beautiful collection of artwork and accessories to make you feel at home. Enter the property via the spacious porch, where you can store all your outdoor gear. Once inside, a warm welcome awaits thanks to cosy underfloor heating and a roaring wood burner. At the heart of the home is a country-style kitchen/diner with everything needed to cater for the group and a stylish, central dining table for hosting dinner parties and special occasions. In the evenings, relax in the inviting lounge, where a large, reclining leather sofa provides the perfect spot to snuggle up and watch a movie on the Smart TV/DVD. A handy shower room completes the ground floor. Upstairs, four gorgeous bedrooms await, all with their own sense of style and quirky design features. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. Outside, dine long into the night in the south-facing walled garden, before sinking into the bubbling hot tub under the stars.

Port Musgrave sits within a Site of Special Scientific Interest; head down to the tiny beach to hunt for fossils and rummage in rock pools. There are some fabulous walks branching away from Port Musgrave, both along the coastline and through the surrounding fields and woodlands. After a long walk, refuel in the friendly pub, just 0.5 miles from the cottage. The bustling seaside town of Whitby (9.5 miles) makes a lovely day out. Soak up the town’s history at Whitby Abbey or the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, before dining in one of the many seafood restaurants.
