Whisk away your small family or the other half plus one canine companion to this elegant and bright converted 200-year-old barn set on a small farm with characterful original features and a sociable open-plan living area. Meet the farmyard horses, ducks and sheep, and take advantage of the onsite games room and the nearby delights – such as nature reserves, a vineyard, and the historical city of York.

Step inside the open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge to find a wooden beamed ceiling, tranquil tones of blue, a characterful exposed stone wall plus plenty of natural light pouring through the glass patio doors. The contemporary ‘L’-shaped kitchen is stylish and well organised with a convenient washing machine. Next to this is an extendable dining table with seating for four. Put your feet up on the plump sofa in the lounge area with a wood burner, smart TV and views of the garden. Also on the ground floor is a shower room. Upstairs is another bathroom, bath with shower attachment, plus two bedrooms – a king-size zip-and-link plus a double. Outside is a garden and games room which are shared with neighbouring properties.

During your stay in the rural village of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor start your day with a visit to the local bakery – there are also a handful of shops, a cafe and restaurants within 1 mile. Take Fido for a stroll around the lakes of Burnby Hall Gardens (10 miles) or wander through the woodland of the North Cliffe Wood Nature Reserve (4.5 miles). Delve into the Roman and Viking history of York (19 miles) – where you’ll also find independent eateries and shops. Go for a swim at the sandy dog-friendly Hornsea Beach (28.5 miles).

This is a fabulous holiday let, in a peaceful rural location. It has a very relaxing south facing walled garden. The property is well equipped and comfortable. Underfloor heating provides a gentle background warmth. Owners, who live on site, are very friendly. Highly recommend this property.
