One of a pair of high-end holiday homes ideal for a pet-loving party of six, this stunning barn conversion is located in the lush green countryside of the Howardian Hills, with iconic Castle Howard 4 miles in one direction and foodie-favourite Malton just 2 miles in the other. Spacious interiors, a private courtyard and a paddock especially for dogs tick more of the must-have boxes for the ultimate family break.
Surrounded by beautiful farmland, this deluxe holiday residence impresses from the outset: its huge ground-floor windows reflect the landscape beyond and allow light to flood into rooms full of character and comfort. Leave your cares and coats in the hallway as you enter – a handy cloakroom is conveniently located here – then head through to a lounge/diner which is full of wow-factor features including a striking stone floor and exposed ceiling beams. Stretch out in front of the Smart TV, admire the view from those floor-to-ceiling windows and share good food and lively conversations around the rustic dining table. On the other side of the hallway, the chic, contemporary kitchen is a great space for companionable cooking. When it’s time to sleep, settle the dogs – four are welcome! – then take your pick of three dreamy first-floor bedrooms, all with TVs. The master king-size has an en-suite shower room, the second room has a double bed, and the third is a twin bedroom which can be made up as a super-king on request. Completing the accommodation is an on-trend bathroom with both a bath and a separate shower. Back on the ground floor, a door from the kitchen leads into a private courtyard with a patio and garden furniture, the perfect spot to enjoy al fresco feasts while the dogs sleep after a run in the enclosed paddock nearby. For an even bigger group getaway, the neighbouring property can be booked to accommodate a further six guests and four pets – please ask us for details.
The whole family will find plenty to please here – enjoy walks from your doorstep or head to Castle Howard, a stunning stately home with acres of grounds and gardens to explore, and a great adventure playground for the youngsters. The town of Malton has quaint cobbled streets and historic buildings and is known as Yorkshire’s food capital. Further afield, Pickering (10 miles) is the starting point for the North York Moors Railway – well-behaved dogs are welcome and at Grosmont station, the heritage railway connects to the Esk Valley Line so you can journey onwards to Whitby. Alternatively, the Edwardian resort of Filey and lively Scarborough are both a 25-mile drive away, and historic York is 19 miles away.
