May - June Events
There is always so much going on in May and June. With two Bank Holidays and a half term there are festivals and events for all the family to enjoy. Festivals include the Waterways Festival in Skipton and the Festival of Music in Filey. Local artists and craft-makers invite you to see them at work in the Open Studios programme across North Yorkshire and the first regatta of the year is held at Filey. Skipton Waterway Festival
30 April – 2 May 2022
With great success in previous years, the Skipton Waterways Festival is a three-day canal boat event, attracting visitors from across the country. With live music, crafts, morris dancing and the illuminated boat cruise there is plenty to do for all the family.
Ironstone American Line Dancing Weekend
13-15 May 2022
The annual line dancing weekend is an annual event on the second weekend in May held at Whitby Pavilion. Live music on three nights plus mornings of instruction from top line dancing choreographers.
28 May – 11 June 2022
Premier arts event of the year. A celebration of the arts with a stunning programme including classical, folk jazz, poetry and prose. Many of the events take place in and around Leyburn and Lower Wensleydale.
Malton Food Lover’s Festival

The Food Lovers Festival takes place in Malton, dubbed “Yorkshire’s Food Capital”. Malton is one of Britain's most renowned foodie destinations with traditional food shops, artisan producers, restaurants, a cookery school, food tours, markets and festivals. A small town with a big reputation for food. It is popular with all those who care about where their food is sourced, the festival is loved by foodie visitors, chefs and keen amateur cooks alike. This year it will be held during the Queen's Jubilee Bank Holiday. The festival is free to enter.
Whitby 60s Spectacular

From Friday night to Sunday night, enjoy a full weekend of sixties music, featuring some of the biggest names of the 1960s. Welcome to 'Whitby Live' home of the 1960s Music Weekends, for the past 15 it has been hosting some of the top 60s Acts from the UK and the USA. Over the past 15 years many of the 1960s biggest names have appeared including The Manfreds, Marty Wilde, Alvin Stardust, The Searchers and Many more.
Robin Hood’s Bay Folk Weekend

Scalby Fair takes place in June each year in the beautiful village of Scalby, located just north of Scarborough. The fair is a week of events that culminates in a street fair with 50 plus stalls, street entertainment, small children’s rides, tombola and barbecue.
Armed Forces Day

Scarborough will host the prestigious Armed Forces Day National Event. Venue: Scarborough South Bay.

Here you can see North Yorkshire farming at its best whilst enjoying plenty of family fun. Live music will be provided by The Malton School Jazz Band whilst events happening will include the dog show and a display of birds, reptiles and spiders from Whitby Falconers.
