Description

East Cottage in Thwaite village is a traditional stone-built cottage, which is very well equipped and is ideally placed for those of you looking to holiday in this beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales. There are walks and cycle routes from the door and the popular market towns are a short drive away. The cottage benefits from an open fire, which is ideal to cosy up to after a day exploring the Dales. The cottage has retained lots of character such as beamed ceilings, and Thwaite waterfall and stream are just beside the courtyard to the side of the cottage, here you will find peace and tranquillity and is an ideal spot to catch the sunshine. The property is ideal for families or groups of friends looking to holiday together, this property can be booked with DS321 and DS322 to accommodate a total number of 13 guests.

Notes: Please note there is a stream and waterfall at the bottom of the car park, there is an unlocked gate and steps leading down to the water, care should be taken when using the stream and waterfall area, children should be supervised at all times. There is an electric headed airier in the property.

Thwaite
Thwaite is in Upper Swaledale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Pennine Way and Coast to Coast walks pass close by and cyclists can follow the route of Le Tour 2014.  The protected wild flower meadows burst into colour in May and June, with rich autumn hues from September onwards. The Yorkshire Dales are loved for their spectacular scenery, old market towns and unspoilt villages. Why not visit one of the many castles, stately homes or abbeys, ending with a visit to one of the local tea shops?  There are activities to suit all tastes from pot holing to climbing crags or watching waterfalls; or, if you prefer wheels to walking, why not try the network of bridleways and byways? what better way to end your day than a visit to one of the local Dale's pubs to sample the local beer and food?
