This characterful cottage in the Yorkshire Dales is a fantastic option for families on holiday at all times of the year with a wood burner in the snug and a wonderful south-facing for the summer. Just a mile away lies the charming market town of Hawes where unique tearooms, weekly markets and independent shops await for a leisurely day exploring the local area.

Upon entering the property you’ll feel instantly at home with hardwood flooring in the entrance and plenty of storage for your shoes and coats. From here, head into the living room with its beamed ceiling to relax with your loved ones on the two sofas and two chairs whilst watching a film. Boasting triple-aspect views, the lounge is an idyllic social space at the heart of the home with traditional styling. Next door is the snug room, featuring a multi-fuel stove, a two-seater sofa, a TV and a selection of games making this a great option to use as a kid's room. Completing the ground floor is the pretty pastel kitchen/diner which is spacious and stylish, furnished with a large dining table with chairs and a corner Monks bench. Upstairs, the first bedroom features a king-size bed in the cosy country-style room, whilst bedrooms two and three similarly have twin beds. All three bedrooms share the family bathroom, with a comfortable p-shaped bathtub for a long evening soak. At the front of the cottage, you’ll find the patio where you can enjoy meals outside when the sun is shining.

For those in search of adventure, the well-known long-distance walking trail of the Pennine Way can be found just a mile away. A number of other wonderful waterfall walks are also within easy reach for a shorter trail, including Aisgill Falls and Gayle Force (8 miles) which lie a mile apart and fall on a circular walk from Hawes itself. The Wensleydale Creamery (1 mile) is a must for cheese lovers, offering an insight into the production process of this much-loved cheese, as well as plenty of opportunities to taste test and bring some produce home of your own.

We had a lovely stay here and found it very relaxing. The two living room areas are great and we loved the big bath in the bathroom. Plenty of things such as games, jigsaws, books and movies to turn to if the weather makes you stay in. Just a short drive into Hawes and close to the Wensleydale Creamery. We would certainly stay there again.

Great cottage.Grandson walked in and said Yay! Fits 4 very comfortably. Good decor and very well appointed for white goods/TV etc. Good and peaceful location with great views. (loudest sound was sheep on nearby hill). Lovely stream walk near cottage. Easy (c 1 mile) drive into Hawes which has good facilities. Perfect save for one v minor niggle: Read more changing Freesat and DVD and back needs clearer instructions in handbook (e.g. press Home on TV remote; go to TV icon at bottom left; go to menu bar above; press Source; go to HDMI 1 or go to HDMI 2 for DVD. Sounds simple but takes 45 minutes to work out from scratch!). In all 10/10. Exceeded expectations. Will certainly book with Yorkshire Cottages next time we want a holiday in Yorkshire. Hide
