With only rolling fields and bleating sheep as neighbours, peace and quiet are always assured when staying in this remote Swaledale cottage. Perched high above the hilltops in the marvellous Yorkshire Dales National Park, this lovingly converted barn provides an extremely relaxing place to stay for any group of six guests. With multi-generational families or friends in mind, this property is extremely well equipped and features an accessible bedroom and wet room downstairs on the ground floor. Experience the holiday you want with plenty to see and do all around the property, including epic walks, mighty cycling routes or local towns and villages with inviting cafes and pubs.

The accommodation is set out over two storeys with plenty of generously proportioned rooms to ensure there’s more than enough space to unwind. Along with a twin bedroom and adjacent wet room, the downstairs offers a cosy lounge and a spacious kitchen/diner for mealtimes and late-night relaxation. Plenty of cushy seating is positioned around a wood burner and a TV/DVD in the beamed, high-ceiling lounge. From here you can venture upstairs to find two further bedrooms, a king-size and another twin, served by a stylish family bathroom. Completing the accommodation's offering is a sprawling patio space with outdoor furniture and glorious views across surrounding fields.

Although the property is situated out in the sticks, the vibrant market town of Hawes is only ever a short car journey away (9.5 miles). Famously the home of Wensleydale cheese, this lovely little town offers tours of a creamery, a countryside museum and plenty of walking routes to embark on. Park up and take a short wander out to Cotter Force (11 miles), a beautiful waterfall on the outskirts of the town, or embark on a gentle stroll along the River Ure.

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 king-size, 2 twins

We have been holidaying in North Yorkshire for over 20 years and this is by far our favourite holiday cottage of all; its a large detached cottage with a lovely private garden surrounded by spectacular views of the dales.

A beautifully presented barn conversion in a very quiet and relaxing part of the country . We were wanting somewhere away from it all and we were not disappointed !

This is a terrific cottage in a wonderful location - remote, quiet, surrounded by wildlife (plus sheep and cows). The only thing to be aware of is that the broadband struggles to manage the smart TV at the same time as a Zoom call, so there was a bit of buffering if we did too much at once. As we live in a rural location, we know all about that, aRead morend are sympathetic to the limitations of underpowered rural connections! Swaledale is extraordinarily lovely. Hide

Overall the property is a high standard and the location is second to none. The cleaning standard was good in the visible areas, but we had to tidy-up some used tisses and dust behind the beds and chest of drawers (places not often picked-up). The driveway to the house has some large potholes so the advice for use of a 4x4 was good, but these will Read moreneed attention sooner or later as the heavy rain eroded them even further while we were there. Couldn`t find the outside bin! These are minor points - the cottage and location are both excellent. Hide
