Gunnerside cottages
Gunnerside is a quaint, former lead-mining village in Swaledale, North Yorkshire, and is located at the base of Gunnerside Gill which is a narrow, rocky gorge where remains of the villages mining past can be found. The village is ideally located and walkers are able to join up with the Coast to Coast route or enjoy strolls through picturesque countryside where rolling fields and dales are separated by crisscrossing dry stone walls. The village has a local pub, The Kings Head, which serves food and is served by a part time post office. For a greater range of shops, restaurants, tea rooms and attractions the town of Leyburn is 30 minutes away by car. You can find out more about the local area at The Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes or why not pay a visit to Aysgarth Falls, a beautiful three tiered waterfall close to Leyburn.
