A typical Yorkshire Dales linear village, Carperby is located on the south side of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village offers a peaceful location for a self-catering break and provides a stunning setting for walkers to enjoy, you’ll find several interesting sites around the village from the old stone quarries above the village to the nearby lime kilns and stone circle. The beautiful Aysgarth Falls, a triple flight waterfall, are also close by and make for a great place to enjoy a picnic. The village is famous as being the location of James Herriot and his bride’s honeymoon, the couple stayed at the village inn The Wheatsheaf.
