Reviews

The property was well managed and looked after, it suited our needs very well.

Mr N,

Easy to book, happy with location. There was a couple of things for the cleanliness, one being there was an old nail file on the bathroom cupboard and the front porch drain didn’t smell very nice. There is a low beam on the top floor with no warning which me and my daughter both banged our heads on when going from the room to down-or up the stairs. Apart from those things all was good. Great location and has all the necessities you could need. Great for dogs, enclosed (small garden) which did look bigger in the pictures .

Mrs Julia B,

Pretty cottage, thoughtfully equipped for pur arrival with lovely welcome tray and even dog biscuits. Handy location for all shops and attractions and easy to get out of town too, to.the beautiful countryside and other resorts. Carole was kind and welcoming Thank you!

Ms Justine R,

The cottage we stayed in was perfect and cosy. It was close to amenities and we had everything we needed in the cottage. We had a lovely time there with our 2 dogs.

Mrs Louise B,

Beautiful cottage, well equipped in good location

Mr Iain F,

A welcoming cottage, clean, well equipped and in a good position to easily walk to the centre of Whitby.

Miss Alice O,

This cottage was outstanding! Loved the owner's attention to detail and the boutique style. Really great location and very cosy. Lovely small enclosed garden to the back and small courtyard entrance to the front. Also loved the exceptionally well equipped kitchen!

Ms Joyce M,

Good service. Some issues with technoology of payment initially. The information was inaccurate in one aspect of the payment due. I aimagine this is sorted now.

Mr Donald R,

The property itself was lovely and we had no complaints. But after all the extra charges and fees we ended up paying more than other places.

Miss Sarah M,

A beautiful property with all the comforts and charm you could ask for. A hidden gem.

Miss Anna H,

Area Information

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
