'The Secret Garden Cottage' is situated on the East side of town, off Whitby's famous cobbled 'Church Street'. In an elevated position with the bonus of an enclosed garden. Tucked away from the hussle and bussle of the town but within easy reach of all Whitby has to offer. This makes it an ideal base for family holidays. The property is comfortably furnished and has a modern feel throughout.
25 steps lead up to the property. Enclosed yard to the front of the property.
Kitchen /Diner: Dining table and chairs, sofa and comfy chair, chest of drawers. TV with Freeview and DVD player. Electric oven and grill. Dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine.
Bathroom: Shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.
Lounge: TV with Freeview and DVD player, iPod Radial/speaker dock. Door leading to enclosed garden with patio area.
Bedroom 1: Twin beds, which can be converted (on request) to zip & link king-size bed. Bedside tables and built-in wardrobes.

Parking: Scratchcards are provided for on street parking within the designated zones on the West Cliff 15-20 minutes walk away. This is on a first come first served basis.

Beautiful property with a large secure garden
The garden was perfect for our 18month old granddaughter and our dog. They had such fun. An added bonus in a busy whitby and safe and secure.
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops. There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.
The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.
There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
