We come to Whitby for a post Christmas break. The cottage is a gem. We brought our grand-daughter age 3 weeks on her first visit and will bring her on many more in her future. Thank you to the owners for making it a comfortable home from home and also pets welcome! will return
We come to Whitby every year and stay at a different cottage. Harriet Hannah's was fabulous and we will be sure to book this place again. Thank you
This is our 5th year at this cottage. I was due to visit with my mum who loved Whitby and this cottage, but she sadly passed away earlier this year so decided to come in her memory. We both love everything about this cottage and would recommend it to everyone. Loving the new kitchen, living area and up-dated bathroom. Hope to come back in 2019.
Loved it, would love to stay again next year.
Lovely cottage with stunning view from the top floor windows. Our 6th time in Whitby and this is our favourite. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the treats on arrival, very much appreciated.
A lovely holiday let. Very comfortable with all the mod cons. So nice to be able to bring our dogs too. Will certainly recommend it to friends and return ourselves. Perfect location
Just had a complete overhaul. Very impressive.
Been visiting Whitby for many years. This is one of the best places we have stayed. Very clean, everything you could need and stunning views from the attic bedroom and in a ideal place. Parking was not as bad as we thought it would be. Thank you. Our 2 dogs have also had a great time
Regular visitors to Whitby. It was lovely staying at the bottom of the 199 steps. Very comfortable cottage in a perfect location.
A delightful stay in a lovely cottage, very comfortable. Homely. We have visited Whitby many times for day trips but a the chance to stop over was a great experience. The location is perfect. Right in the heart of it!
What a stay! We stay in Whitby every year at this time and have stayed in a variety of places. This place takes some beating. Everything you need for a perfect break. The view from the top floor is perfect. It allowed us to watch the progress of the HM Bark Endeavour coming to Whitby. Location is excellent. The new facilities here are excellent
Lovely stay, perfect location and accommodation. We've been to Whitby many times and this is the best cottage!
Called the owner to congratulate them on an excellent property.
Another fab week at this lovely cottage. New year celebrations fantastic! Thank you
This is our 4th year and we love this cottage and have nothing negative to say. It is a perfect cottage in a perfect place
Lovely, cosy cottage for our winter break - really enjoyed it
Nice visit, weather was kind. Lovely cottage, good location
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops. There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.
The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.
There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
