Sleights is a stunning, traditional village located around three miles from Whitby. Sleights is one of the largest villages in country. Along the bottom of the village runs the River Esk, where many salmon can be seen leaping in the river. Salmon fishing permits can be obtained for anyone interested in trying their hand at fishing. The village has fantastic amenities including a shop, bakers, an award-winning butchers, pubs, church, village hall, fish and chip restaurant and a post office. Sleights has a train station where you can catch a train to Whitby or Grosmont ( for connections to steam trains) and along the picturesque Esk Valley and travel through the valley and villages along the route. It is a wonderful location for walks and is perfect for a family or couples holiday.
