Description

The Stable is a pretty stone-built period cottage, situated in the popular North Yorkshire village of Sleights. Its history dates back to around 1740 when the cottage used to house horses belonging to the Esk Hall - the charming manor house within whose grounds it was built. The cottage has a pretty enclosed garden, Summer House with large lawn and private parking. Located in the beautiful Esk Valley just three miles from the historic seaside town of Whitby, The Stable offers fantastic opportunities to explore the town and the picturesque countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors, ideal for walking and cycling.

Kitchen/Diner: Fridge/freezer, electric cooker with oven and grill, microwave.
Lounge: TV with Freeview and DVD, woodburner style electric fire, stairs to the upper floor.

FIRST FLOOR
Bedroom 1: Double bed, chest of drawers, two fitted wardrobes, washbasin, TV.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds, chest of drawers, fitted wardrobe, washbasin, TV.
Bathroom: Bath, shower over the bath, toilet, washbasin.

Outbuilding: Summer House in paddock with picnic and play area.

Pets: Sorry, no pets.
Parking: There is a private parking for two cars.
Garden/Patio: Enclosed garden and small patio with outside seating and further large enclosed garden with Summer House.
Heating: Gas central heating and woodburner style electric fire.
Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.
Notes: Towels are not provided, they may be provided for an extra charge of £5 per person. Cot and high chair available. Unlimited WiFi is available free of charge. No smoking at this property. Mobile phone signal is weak.

The quality of the accommodation was fantastic. Upon arrival we had milk,tea/coffee, biscuits, chocolates & sweets for the children - these were a great unexpected bonus which we valued very much. There was only one negative point, which was the poor internet connection. Not sure if this can be rectified but it did not distract us from our enjoyable stay. We had a wonderful week at The Stable at Esk Hall Farm. The cottage was cosy, bright, clean and a home away from home. We had everything we needed. We absolutely loved the location, there was so much to see and do and the scenery was amazing. The Stable has been my favourite cottage so far on our trip. The owner clearly puts a lot of thought and care into the décor and furnishings, and it was immaculately clean and smelled nice too. Area Information

Sleights
Sleights is a stunning, traditional village located about three miles from Whitby, and is one of the largest villages in country. Along the bottom of the village runs the River Esk, where many salmon can be seen leaping in the river. Salmon fishing permits can be obtained for anyone interested in trying their hand at fishing. The village has fantastic amenities including a shop, bakers, an award-winning butchers, pubs, church, village hall, fish and chip restaurant and a post office. It is a wonderful location for walks and is perfect for a family or couples holiday.
