Accessibility Guide The Haven, 4 Clark Street, Scarborough.

Scarborough can be hilly, especially where the cliffs drop steeply to the promenade and beach. Clark Street has relatively level access to the shopping area of the town. There is a step down into the house from the street; the door is 600mm wide.

  • Entrance corridor 650mm wide.
  • Lounge and kitchen are level from this corridor.
  • The flooring is laminated boards, with a mat in the lounge and vinyl in the kitchen.
  • Courtyard garden is accessed down a step.
  • Staircase is 650mm wide, steep and twisting.
  • Bedroom 1 (a double) has a door 700mm wide is level from the landing and carpeted.
  • Next door the bathroom has a level entrance and is large.
  • There is a small step into the shower cubicle.
  • Bedroom TV’s can have subtitles.
  • Bedroom 2 (twin) is on the second floor and is level from the landing, door 700mm.
  • Flooring is laminated board with mats.
  • The accommodation is not suitable for less mobile guest or wheelchair uses.
  • The property is a 15 minute walk from the railway station and major bus stops. Local buses pass close by.

The Haven is a delightful terraced cottage located in the ever-popular coastal seaside town of Scarborough.  A great location for those wanting to be close to Scarborough’s popular attractions or be in a prime location to explore further locations further afield. The property also benefits from on street parking just outside of the property. This cottage is a great choice if you are wanting to bring your pooch along with you to the seaside.  This cosy cottage offers a beautiful private court yard to the rear a great area to relax and enjoy a BBQ at the end of day or a glass of wine.  The accommodation is set over 3 floors with a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy lounge and dining room to the ground floor. To the first floor there is the family bathroom and a double bedroom. To the second floor there is a twin bedroom an ideal room for teenagers or older children.  The lounge offers a TV with a DVD player and WIFI and the other two bedrooms also offers TVs with DVD players. The bathroom offers a separate shower cubicle and bath the perfect place to relax after a day full of activities.  

The property is located 5mins walk from North Bay beach and 15mins walk from South Bay beach and is within the proximity to all the great attractions the town has to offer, from the sea front with its sandy beach, cafes, amusements and sea life centre. For any art lovers there is the Stephen Joseph theatre and a Spa which offers shows and exhibitions throughout the year.  This area of Yorkshire truly has a lot to offer everyone there is plenty to keep you busy within the town, if you just want to park up for the week. Alternatively, if you want to explore further afield into Bridlington or Filey or you can even take a scenic route over the moors into Whitby for some famous Fish and Chips.

Entrance Hallway: On entering the property there is a long hallway leading into the property a great place to store your shoes after a long day out on the beach.
Lounge/Dining room: The open plan lounge dining room offers a lovely space to socialize in. Offering a lovely area to sit as a group for meals and a nice cosy lounge area to watch your favorite movie or play your favorite board game. There are maps, guides and leaflet to choose your next adventure.The dining room offers a dining table for four, book shelf for you to pick a new novel to get stuck into for your stay. The lounge offers a smart TV with a DVD player, WIFI, an electric effect log burner perfect to snuggle in front of with a hot chocolate after a day of exploring. A comfortable two-seater sofa and three individual tuck chairs.
Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped offering a fridge /freezer, washing machine, electric oven with a grill and hob, kettle, microwave and toaster. Door leading out to the patio area.

Family Bathroom: A spacious bathroom fitted with a four-piece suite offering a bath, toilet, hand basin and a separate shower cubicle.
Bedroom One: A beautiful room with a double bed, plenty of storage for your favorite holiday clothes with a wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers, 2 bedside cabinets with lamps, a free standing mirror and a TV with a DVD player.

Bedroom Two: Another spacious bedroom offering two single beds, wardrobe, chest of draws, 2 bedside tables with lamps and a TV with a DVD player.

Area Information

Scarborough is an all year round destination, with its busy fishing harbour and marina a hub of excitement whatever the weather. Scarborough Castle is set in a stunning location and offers visitors panoramic views over the dramatic coastline. The 2,500-year old building is a must see for anyone visiting the area, and a wonderful day out for everyone.
There's so much to see and do during the day in this lovely seaside town, but also plenty of places to relax and unwind in the evening, including many bars and eateries along the seafront.
