Description
Number Five South Cliff is a bright, spacious period apartment with wide views of the sea, cliffs and South Bay through floor-to-ceiling windows and from your own private balcony. Elegantly and tastefully furnished we hope you will find all you need to make your holiday enjoyable. If you plan to stay in and cook you will find a well-equipped kitchen and separate dining area with views of the sea. Walk through to the large sitting room and from the sofa look straight out to sea. Your bedroom has French windows onto the balcony and from the comfort of your king-size bed you can watch the yachts and fishing boats on the water. Come back from the day's activities to a glass of wine looking out at the twinkling lights of Scarborough harbour. Hotels, pubs and restaurants catering for all tastes are within walking distance.
Have breakfast on the balcony before enjoying a leisurely stroll down to the beach, just minutes away, or have fun travelling in the cliffside funicular railway. The pedestrian Spa Bridge leads into town offering glorious views of the castle and South Bay. The neighbouring four-star Crown Spa Hotel has a gym and pool that can be used at a small cost and beautiful Yorkshire walking country is within easy reach, indeed the Cleveland Way passes at the foot of the cliff. Many cultural and musical events are held at local venues including the Stephen Joseph Theatre (closely associated with Alan Ayckbourn, who lives in the town), Woodend (former home of the Sitwells) and at the Open-Air Theatre near the famous 1912 Peasholm Park. St Martin’s church, around the corner, is well-known for its pre-Raphaelite stained-glass. Historic York is a direct train ride away and the resorts of Filey, Bridlington and Whitby are within easy reach.
Number Five is not suitable for children and, sorry, no pets. The property has a narrow lift but note that there are steps up to the front door. A free parking permit is provided for one car and further on-street parking is available free but at a short distance. You will be welcomed in person on arrival and we are happy to provide any recommendations on what to do or see during your stay in our welcome pack.
