Our cottages in Sawdon provide the perfect base between the fun of the Yorkshire coast and the breathtaking splendor of the North York Moors National Park. The popular resort of Scarborough is only a short drive away where you’ll find two great sandy beaches and wonderful visitor attractions such as the 3000 year old castle and the new family friendly waterpark and spa Alpamare. The historic market town of Pickering is just 11 miles west of the village, situated on the outskirts of the North York Moors where you’ll find independent shops and delightful tea rooms. In the village itself, a visit to the local pub The Anvil Inn is a must! Serving real ales and high quality meals, the pub is popular with locals and visitors alike. In the neighbouring village of Brompton you’ll find a quaint little beck, ideal for feeding the ducks if you’re holidaying with the kids. Brompton also has a tea room, the Brompton Forge and a very small local pub, The Old Post Office Tavern, which was runner up in CAMRA’s rural pub of the year 2016.
